Four Seasons; or The Epic of Pentwater
Conceived as an observational documentary with the scope of an epic poem, but documenting a topic of small scale, Four Seasons; or the Epic Of Pentwater, examines life in a small, relatively unknown Michigan town.
Developed alongside Four Seasons, Goodbye is the much shorter, more accessible, and expressionistic incarnation of around 48 hours of compiled footage. Whereas Four Seasons employs a realist, epic scale vision towards the presentation of life in a small town, Goodbye romanticizes nostalgia by simulating an antique super 8mm film look.
