This project was envisioned as a loving preservation of the Summer soundscapes of my hometown. They are currently still in the process of post-production and the ultimate intention is to utilize these recordings for ambiences in future projects, for an exhibit in Pentwater's Historical Society Museum and to publicly release them as an album.

It was during a stress filled night that I struggled to design sounds for embryonic life. After pulling sounds online yielded dissatisfactory results, I jammed the stereo mics of a Zoom H4N into my stomach out of desperation and recorded exactly what I was looking for. These recordings have come in remarkably useful for a variety of abstract designs since then, including a soundscape for deep space and a surrealist composition about self-violence.

During moments where I have not planned to record sound and don't have my Field Recorder or want to remain conspicuous, I will record sound using my iPhone. Sometimes I record moments of friends and acquaintances talking over lunch, at work or in a meeting. This stems from my fascination of mangling and contorting the sounds of voices. These lo-fi recordings will usually end up layered into an abstract composition or as part of a larger soundscape.
